Week 2, 9/6-9/10, Post 3

This ad focuses on a certain parties idea about where the interest should be concerning cars and fuel emissions. The interesting part about this ad for me is that this party seems to want cars in Sweden. In this town, bikes are the main way of transportation for day to day errands. From my point of view it seems that the community is quite content with the way they travel but this ad suggests there is some tension with the idea of wanting cars but needing better fuel so that they are friendly to the environment. I think that the big wow factor in this ad is that this party is showing a great concern for standards that should be met before people own cars and drive them at their leisure. This party obviously has a big budget because they can afford advertising everywhere which leads me to believe they are a big contender or a very supported party in this election. In American elections, the environment is not often a #1 concern of the people. When reflecting on the past American election and the ads I saw for it, most were bringing up issues of war, taxes, and healthcare. The environment has increasingly become an issue in America as we are realizing more and more that we need to do something about it, but the Swedes seem to be putting their foot down much earlier than the Americans. They are trying to solve the problem before it is even a problem. They are drawing on the fact that other countries (such as America) have not been careful with the emissions and now have problems with pollution.
